Music for Resident Evil 6

On 17 October, 2012

After one and a half year of work in secrecy we can finally let the word out: Thomas and Laurent composed over 100 minutes of original music for the highly anticipated Resident Evil 6!  We had a truly exciting time writing music for this amazing, legendary horror game classic by Japanese game developer Capcom. One of the biggest game releases of 2012, RE6 is the newest sequel to the Resident Evil series, a worldwide franchise having sold 50 million units* already.

In addition to original composition, PearUp Media exclusively orchestrated and supervised the recording for the score.  For that very reason, already in January this year, Thomas, Laurent and Taro all flew out to Sydney, Australia, to record an epic 90-piece orchestra at Trackdown Studios.  After a hard but very productive and thrilling week in Down-Under under close collaboration with the sound team of RE6 from Capcom, we could eventually walk away with very exciting music. None of this would have been possible without the support of engineer Tim Ryan, conductor par excellence Brett Kelly, the ever facilitating crew from Trackdown and, of course, the 90 fine musicians from the Sydney Scoring Orchestra. Many thanks to all of you!

If you’re curious how some the music turned out, check this trailer to listen to one of the themes from Resident Evil 6, composed and orchestrated by PearUp Media, recorded with the Sydney Scoring Orchestra at Trackdown Studio in Sydney, Australia.

By the way, this trailer, first shown at E3 2012 in Los Angeles, won “Best Trailer” as awarded by Gametrailers.com . Enjoy!
